Rhea's lawyer denies representing actress for free

Bollywood actress Rhea Chakraborty’s lawyer Satish Maneshinde on Friday denied speculation that he was rendering his services for free.

Maneshinde also denied that it was him who had approached Rhea to represent her in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case.

“What Rhea said in her interview (to the media) was only that I didn't raise bills in her case and whatever people are saying that I approached her for this case and offered my services for free is not true. Fees is a matter between me and my client,” Maneshinde said.

The remarks came as Rhea was finally summoned by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in the Sushant death case today. She was called for questioning at the DRDO guest house here, where the CBI team investigating the case is staying.

The lawyer had yesterday alleged that his client Rhea was being hounded and subjected to a witch-hunt in the case. He noted that so far, no incriminating evidence has been uncovered against her in the case.

Maneshinde, commenting on media claims that Rhea (28) used to take drugs and even allegedly administered banned substances to her boyfriend Sushant, said, "Rhea has never consumed drugs in her life, and she is ready to undergo a blood test. She is being hounded and a witch-hunt is being carried out."

"Earlier, the Mumbai Police was probing the case, then the Bihar Police came into the picture followed by the Enforcement Directorate, the CBI and now the Narcotics Control Bureau," Maneshinde said.

"Now only the NIA (National Investigation Agency), Income Tax (Department) and Intelligence Bureau (IB) are left out," he said in a sarcastic vein.
