Kalki Koechlin has remarked that Bollywood is going through a recession, pointing to a lack of strong content and growing uncertainty in the industry.
Speaking on the podcast Aleena Dissects, she said, “There’s a recession happening — does everyone know that? Bollywood is in a recession, which is why everything is being re-released.”
Kalki noted that while people within the industry are aware of the ongoing crisis, they feel helpless in addressing it.
“Everything is stalled, everything is stuck. Creative teams are being fired and rehired,” she added, highlighting the instability behind the scenes.
