Ravi Teja Prays for a Sankranthi Dropout

There’s a clear reason why Ravi Teja and his producer locked Bhartha Mahashayulaku Wignapti (BMW) for a Sankranthi 2026 release, despite knowing the festival slot is already overcrowded.

Ravi Teja urgently needs a solid hit, and he believes BMW; a family entertainer with ample comedy; stands its best chance during the Sankranthi season.

Traditionally, even modest films perform well during the festival, especially those that cater to family audiences. This has reportedly made Ravi Teja adamant about releasing the film during Pongal at any cost.

The Sankranthi 2026 lineup is already packed with big titles like Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu, Prabhas’s The Raja Saab, and Naveen Polishetty’s Anaganaga Oka Raju, along with dubbed releases Jana Nayakudu and Parasakthi.

However, Ravi Teja is said to be confident that at least one of these major films; particularly among the straight Telugu releases; may not meet the deadline.

If a project drops out, it would give BMW a safer and more favorable landing in the festival clash.
