Ramayana, The Introduction: A Mythological Wonder

Ramayana, The Introduction: A Mythological Wonder

The wait is over! The first glimpse of Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana is finally here.

The glimpse has been screened in theatres across major Indian cities and is now available online. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and Yash as Ravan.

Titled Ramayana: Part 1, the film promises grand visuals and an epic story. The glimpse has received a strong response on social media, building excitement for its Diwali 2026 release.

The 3-minute video doesn’t show much of the cast but instead focuses on title cards and superimposed texts to set the tone of the film.

Interestingly, the glimpse frames the story more as Rama vs Ravan rather than the emotional journey of Rama and Sita.

Lines like “The war to end all wars began” suggest a more action-driven narrative, instead of highlighting the deep bond between Rama and Sita or portraying Sita as the ideal woman.

That said, the glimpse still leaves an impression. The final shot of Ranbir Kapoor in Rama’s avatar, drawing his bow, makes a big impact.

If Yash had also been shown, it would have created more buzz across both North and South audiences.

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, with music by A.R. Rahman and Hans Zimmer, the film stars Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, and Yash in lead roles. Ramayana: Part 1 is set to release on Diwali 2026.
