There is nothing in this world that cannot happen without lobbying. Even the so called prestigious Academy Awards may succumb to certain practices. Well, thats the anticipation. In fact, whatever be the award committee they are all human beings in the first place.
Film Federation of India kept RRR aside and but made an official entry for Gujarati Film Chchello Show at the Academy Awards 2023 in the Best Foreign Film category.
But Rajamouli and team didnt get disheartened. They increased their aggression in promoting the film to win as many Academy Awards as possible. Yes, its not one but many!
The film RRR has been submitted to the Academy of Motion Pictures, Arts and Sciences, in as many as 14 categories.
Not surprisingly, the makers of RRR are seeking nominations in all the major categories including Best Motion Picture, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay-Story, Best Original Song, Best Music, Best Supporting Actor — Male, Best Supporting Actor — Female, and Best Actor awards for Ram and Jr NTR, among others.
This is the biggest promotion ever for winning the attention of Oscar awards committee. Indeed, Rajamouli has script for everything right from making a film to marketing it and also for grabbing the attention of awards committee.
Why this desperation and determination? When asked this, an insider said that if Rajamouli wins an Academy award for his film, he may get an easier access to Hollywood biggies for his future plans. This is certainly an arguable point.
