Quarterly Toppers: Krack, Uppena And Jathi Rathnalu

Curtains are down for the first quarter in Tollywood. In the post lockdown season, the theatrical performance of the films looked encouraging only with Ravi Teja's "Krack" in the month of January. The film stood as the blockbuster hit.

Then in the month of February, the film "Uppena" starring Vaishnav Tej and Kriti Shettty shook the box office.

After that in March, the film "Jathi Rathnalu" starring Naveen Polishetty became the blockbuster hit.

About 10 films released in the first week of March. Out of these only three films were released with some expectations.

The first one was A1 Express with Sundeep Kishan and Lavanya Tripathi in lead roles. The film disappointed the audience and ended up as a flop.

Same was the plight of "Shaadi Mubarak''. Despite good talk, the film failed to make any collections. Dil Raju didn't bother about the promotion of this film and hence it toppled miserably at the box office.

Raj Tharun's "Power Play" became a disaster. Other films like Play Back and Devineni couldn't register any notable presence at the box office.

In the second week of March, Sreekaaram, Gali Sampath and Jathi Ratnalu were released. While the first two turned off at the box office, Jathi Rathnalu has become the biggest hit.

In the third week Mosagallu, Chavukaburu Challaga and Sashi were released. While Mosagallu disappointed, CKC received bad talk. Sashi became unnoticed and the superhit song sung by Sid Sriram also couldn't help it in any way.

In the last week, Rang De, Aranya, Tellavarithe Guruvaram and Ee Kathalo Pathralu Kalpitham have seen the light. While Aranya proved to be a docudrama and turned down by the audience, Rang De could score better. The other two films went unnoticed.

On a whole, in the month of March, while Jathi Rathnalu stood as blockbuster, Rang De maintained reasonable collections.
