Director Puri Jagannadh has teamed up with Tamil star Vijay Sethupathi for an upcoming pan-Indian film. While the project has been officially announced, filming has yet to begin.
Although the title Beggar has been rumored, Vijay Sethupathi clarified during a recent media interaction in Hyderabad that no official title has been finalized.
However, he expressed excitement about the film, stating that he was thoroughly impressed by Puri’s narration.
Despite the anticipation, the project is facing significant hurdles.
According to sources, Puri Jagannadh must first resolve several financial obligations before production can move forward.
Two cases are reportedly pending with the Film Chamber, and financiers are hesitant to support the film until he clears substantial dues owed to previous investors.
These unresolved financial issues are causing delays in the film’s schedule.
Co-producer Charmee Kaur, who is partnering with Puri on the project, is also reportedly dealing with financial liabilities.
Both Puri and Charmee suffered considerable losses after their recent films Liger and Double iSmart underperformed at the box office.
