'Oh My Baby' from 'Guntur Kaaram' sounds mundane

"Oh My Baby," the second single from Mahesh Babu's "Guntur Kaaram," was released today. The song follows a cliched style with no magical spark upon initial listening.

Even the lyrics are routine, featuring mundane expressions. The song might garner attention solely because it is associated with Superstar Mahesh Babu. Otherwise, it lacks a unique sense of catchiness.

The collaboration of Trivikram Srinivas and Mahesh Babu, as well as Trivikram and S Thaman, have previously delivered chartbuster albums. The expectations for "Guntur Kaaram" are also high, anticipating another huge chartbuster. However, the first song, 'Dum Masala,' and the second single, 'Oh My Baby,' seem to fall short of expectations upon the first listening. If they seamlessly integrate into the film's narrative, they may still turn out to be blockbusters. Overall, it appears that Mahesh Babu's star power and Trivikram's reputation may play a significant role in the songs' success.

The instant catchiness of subsequent songs upon first listening remains to be seen. Ramajogayya Sastry wrote the lyrics. Shilpa Rao sang it.

Sreeleela and Meenakshi Chowdhary play the female leads, with Ramyakrishnan, Prakash Raj, and several others in supporting roles. Cinematography is handled by Manoj Paramahamsa, production design by A.S. Prakash, and the film is edited by National Award-winning editor Navin Nooli.

"Guntur Kaaram" is scheduled to hit theaters for the Sankranthi Festival worldwide on January 12, 2024. Additional details will be announced by the movie team soon.
