TDP-allied media channels, often dubbed “yellow media”, continue to air exaggerated news and praise despite widespread public ridicule.
Their news anchors remain undeterred, delivering over-the-top eulogies about Chandrababu Naidu, drawing laughter from viewers who find their reporting and anchoring almost comical.
A popular anchor recently described Chandrababu Naidu has a defect and that is constantly attending meetings, traveling and planning state development...!
Well, he implies that Chandrababu is not caring for his health to do all this. Flattery so extreme, it becomes hard to take seriously.
Another yellow media news anchor blabbered, “YSRCP leaders planted their people in TDP and eventually made them commit liquor scams to tarnish TDP’s image.” Wow! What a comical display of creativity.
The attempt of these yellow media journalists is clearly to keep people under an illusion, yet they have no idea how many are laughing at them.
Trying to trap people in such illusions and presenting it as serious news is absurd. Considering this as mainstream media coverage is downright comedic.
There are two to three anchors in these channels who have become a laughing stock for large sections of the audience, yet they persist with their style.
When questioned about this, one journalist explained that these anchors firmly believe they have a loyal following that enjoys such praise for Chandrababu, no matter how blatant it appears. For them, catering to this segment is enough reason to continue their exaggerated reporting.
Another journalist noted that these channels deliberately target voters who may be innocent or illiterate, as such anchoring appeals to them.
Yet, the situation also reflects a broader irony. Many of the anchors themselves lack journalistic depth or literacy.
According to a journalist, "Stubborn foolishness and illiteracy is almost a prerequisite to survive as an anchor in these yellow media channels. While the anchors remain unaware of their exaggeration, their employers clearly know".
The real highlight is that even educated and sensible members within TDP are holding their heads in frustration, unable to believe the exaggerations and nonsense being broadcast in the name of journalism.
