Neha Shetty ventured into item numbers for the first time in her career with the song “Kiss Kiss Bang Bang.”
Typically, such songs add glamour and buzz to a film, especially when performed by a popular actress. However, in Neha’s case, the song failed to create any significant impact, neither boosting the film’s fortunes nor adding momentum to her career.
The main reason appears to be the way the song was handled.
“Kiss Kiss Bang Bang,” shot on location in Bangkok, was initially planned to appear in the second half of Pawan Kalyan’s “OG”.
However, director Sujeeth and editor Naveen Nooli felt it disrupted the narrative flow and decided to remove it, despite the producer’s objections.
Although “OG” opened to massive collections, its box-office performance dipped after the first few days. Responding to fan requests for some “relief” in the second half, Sujeeth reluctantly reinserted the song five days after release.
Unfortunately, the late inclusion didn’t help — the song failed to generate any buzz or attract new audiences.
In the end, “Kiss Kiss Bang Bang” turned out to be a missed opportunity.
Poor placement and delayed execution rendered Neha Shetty’s first item song ineffective, wasting both her effort and the song’s potential.
