Many New Releases, No Excitement

The trade and the producers had high expectations for Prabhas' "Adipurush," anticipating it to have a successful run for two or three weeks.

Given its adaptation of the Ramayana, many predicted that it would attract elderly people and women, leading to long-lasting viewership. Consequently, several other films were postponed to July to accommodate this anticipation.

However, "Adipurush" ended its theatrical run in the first week itself, surprising many.

As a result, nine new films are set to release in theaters this weekend, with only one or two of them receiving any significant publicity or buzz.

Among the new releases on Friday, "Manu Charitra" stands out, featuring Shiva Kandukuri as the protagonist. The trailer showcases an intensity reminiscent of "Arjun Reddy," and it also stars Megha Akash.

Renowned producer BVSN Prasad presents the psychological thriller "Asvins," which does not feature any well-known faces.

Another notable film is "Bheemadevarapally Branch," set in rural Telangana.

Additionally, three or four films with relatively unknown casts are also lined up for release.
