Many people are linking the dialogue in the climax episode of “Andhra King Taluka” to Chiranjeevi. The film actually portrays the relationship between a fan and a star hero.
At the end of the movie, the hero Ram shakes hands with Upendra and says, “I heard your hand is soft, it is indeed soft.”
This line reminds the audience of the Indra 175 days celebration in 2002 where actor Sunil said about Chiranjeevi, “I shook Chiranjeevi garu's hand and it was very soft.”
Because of this, many viewers feel that Andhra King Taluka takes inspiration from Chiranjeevi.
However, the film also includes several mixed and confusing references.
A poster titled “Pratijna” is shown with Upendra’s face even though the real Pratijna is a 1982 film starring Mohan Babu.
Another poster titled “Agni Putrudu” actually refers to Nagarjuna’s 1987 film. In another scene, Upendra is shown endorsing a drink called “Cool Cola” which resembles Coca Cola and another hero endorses “Lime Up” which seems similar to 7UP.
These cause further confusion because Chiranjeevi and Mahesh Babu endorsed Thums Up while Allu Arjun endorsed 7UP and at the same time these endorsements do not match the film’s 1980s backdrop, making it difficult to draw any clear parallel.
So even though the “soft hand” dialogue is a direct lift from Sunil’s comment about Chiranjeevi, the rest of the references appear fictional and point to no specific hero.
The film represents the common Telugu cinema fan rather than any one actor.
