India's Senior Most Busiest Music Director Shocks All?

A R Rahman debuted with Roja in 1992 in the South, and with Rangeela he entered Bollywood in 1995. After that, his work needed no introduction and the entire world came to know his music.

The way he won the first Oscar for music from India is legendary. He is the senior most and busiest music director in India today.

Though M M Keeravaani is two years senior to him, the amount of work he takes up is far less in comparison.

It has been 33 years since Rahman started his career. Still, his upcoming projects show how active he is and how strongly he continues to compete with younger names like Anirudh Ravichander and Thaman.

While younger composers are known for quick, energetic album releases, Rahman works on many big films across several languages.

His schedule is filled with films that are being shot, in post-production or getting ready for release.

He is composing for Peddi in Telugu, Khoj in Hindi, Killer in Tamil and an untitled Diljit Dosanjh film with Imtiaz Ali.

One of his biggest projects is Ramayana: Part 1, which he is working on along with Hollywood composer Hans Zimmer.

He also has films like Genie, Imaginary Rain, Moon Walk, Lahore 1947 and the Gandhi TV series.

Even delayed or silent films like Baab and Gandhi Talks remain on his list. It's indeed a shock to see this size of work under him.

With so many projects lined up Rahman shows that he is still in high demand.

Even with younger music directors dominating social media and youth playlists Rahman continues to keep his strong place in Indian cinema.
