I do not want trust people blindly: Shakeela

Shakeela, known as Mallu soft-porn queen who ruled the roost for more than two decades, does not want to trust people anymore.

Shakeela opines that many people among those who approached her, let it be her relatives or movie directors, are not trustworthy.

She said that her relatives cheated her after availing pecuniary benefits. Now, she is repenting for blindly trusting director Indrajit Lankesh who made her biopic.

The multi-lingual movie – Shakeela - was released in December 2020 but the distributors had to withdraw it from theaters within a few weeks.

“The director had discussed with me before commencing Shakeela movie shooting but changed the script as per his whims and fancies. I had high hopes for it but it failed miserably at the box office,’’ says Shakeela who is in Bengaluru to act in Davvu Master, a Kannada movie.

She says that no relative has helped her during the pandemic.

“I have been making ends meet from the fee I get from online cooking classes. I have also been assigned to play character roles in a few Tamil and Telugu movies apart from a Kannada movie in which I play a character that falls in love with a pet dog,’’ says Shakeela, adding that she does not want to play similar roles that she played during the 90's.

Shakeela has acted in Kannada movies such as Ninety, Sagara, Love U Alia and Thuntaata.
