How can Pawan become CM with fewer seats?

Jana Sena Party chief and power star Pawan Kalyan’s oft-repeated appeal to the people during his ongoing “Vaarahi” tour in the erstwhile combined East and West Godavari districts to make him the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh once to see the difference has evoked a lot of surprise and criticism.

At his rally in Kakinada, Pawan Kalyan requested the people to give him a chance to rule the state so that he could extend a people-friendly governance.

“I am not saying, like the present chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, that I will do miracles and promising that you will get money in your accounts at the click of the mouse. But I shall promise you a better and efficient administration,” he said.

He regretted that the people are not believing genuine leaders and reposing faith in them.

“If you stand by me, I shall take up your issues with the Centre and get funds. I shall take care of your health and employment needs,” Pawan said.

But one wonders how Pawan can expect to become the chief minister and rule the state, if he has an alliance with the Telugu Desam Party and Bharatiya Janata Party.

He cannot demand more than 50 seats as part of the alliance, because the TDP is a bigger party with huge party network and cadre base. So, there is no option for him but to play a second fiddle to the TDP and be content with 10 or 20 assembly seats.

The same doubt was expressed by Kapu strongman and former minister Mudragada Padmanabham.

“When you say you will have an alliance with the TDP and BJP, how can you ask people to make you as the chief minister? It sounds ridiculous. If you want to become the chief minister, your Jana Sena Party should contest all the 175 assembly seats,” Mudragada argued.
