Hidimbha, Island & Historical Connection: Ashwin Babu

The film Hidimbha starring Ashwin Babu is finally arriving on the 20th of this month. The movie got delayed for various reasons. However, the theatrical trailer generated a lot of excitement to watch the movie in cinemas.

Ashwin Babu in his exclusive interview with greatandhra.com makes some interesting revelations.

“A part of the story is set on an island. While doing some research, we felt Hidimbha would be an apt title. It indeed has a historical connection. We felt the sounding of the title is too good. It’s a different movie with a unique concept.”

The movie was supposed to release in June. But it got delayed because of the objections raised by censor officials. “They felt a few horrifying scenes in the movie objectionable. Thus it was sent to revising committee. It got clearance there with an A certificate.”

Ashwin looked macho in the promos. “We wanted the action scenes to look believable. Thus, I worked really hard to gain a bulky physique.”

Nivetha Pethuraj was the initial choice for the movie. “Nivetha played a cop in another movie. So, we looked for other options. Nandita Swetha is a good find. She is an apt choice for the character. It is a powerful character and travels along with my character.”

Ashwin Babu heaped praises on Andhra Pradesh CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy for his hard work to serve the people and also wanted to see Pawan Kalyan succeeding in politics.
