'Guntur Kaaram': All Special Permissions Wasted

Special permissions were acquired for the movie "Guntur Kaaram." Both the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana governments released special GOs exclusively for this film.

Despite the approval for increased ticket rates and additional shows, it appears that no special permissions are proving effective now.

Let's delve into the situation in Telangana first.

The Telangana government granted special permission for "Guntur Kaaram" until the 18th, allowing an increase in ticket rates and permitting 6 shows per day. However, the movie's performance did not align with expectations.

Consequently, 4 am shows were canceled in many places, including Hyderabad, with only a few screens hosting 7.30 am and 8.40 am shows.

More than 90 percent of screens are still limited to 4 shows per day. But still it is shocking to see poor online bookings.

Weekend occupancy remains good despite the festival, but Sunday bookings for "Guntur Kaaram" don't seem promising. In response, the unit plans to reduce ticket rates, keeping the special permissions aside.

Moving on to Andhra Pradesh, the film secured special permission for a 10-day run. But now as the bookings are poor, the consensus is to wait until Monday and then reassess the ticket rates starting Tuesday.

The hard-earned permissions have not translated well for the movie "Guntur Kaaram." Only the benefit shows in Telangana and the early morning shows have showered good revenue. Once the talk was out, the situation turned very bad.
