Producer Dil Raju's latest release, 'Family Star,' reportedly grossed over Rs 5 crores on its opening day, marking a somewhat lukewarm start at the box office in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and other regions.
Despite Vijay Devarakonda teaming up with his 'Geeta Govindam' director, the film failed to create a significant impact.
According to Trade sources, "It has collected over Rs 5 crores on day one, and it needs to gain momentum quickly to emerge as a big success."
The distributor also noted that the Vijay Devarakonda and Samantha-starrer 'Kushi' had a strong opening, grossing over Rs 12 crores, which was deemed satisfactory.
Despite the film's shortcomings, the performances of Vijay Devarakonda and Mrunal are being praised.
Vijay's portrayal of a down-to-earth family man adds another layer of appeal to the film, concluding the distributor.
The Family Star, written and directed by Parasuram, released on April 5.
