Custody Is My Most Expensive Project: Chaitanya

Naga Chaitanya and Venkat Prabhu’s bilingual film Custody is set for release on 12th of this month. Meanwhile, the team celebrated the film’s pre-release event in presence of the core team.

Krithi Shetty said, “The response for the trailer is good. You’ll like the movie more. I thank my producer for giving me the opportunity. It’s always positive to work with them. I was asked whether it was a de-glam role. I’ll look in a de-glam avatar, but Kathir sir showed me beautifully. My favorite Chay is now my Shiva, after Bangarraju. The way he played the role, everyone will fall in love with him. Thanks, Chay for inspiring me to do better. While Shiva fights for his duty, Revathi fights for her love.”

Naga Chaitanya said, “When I first heard the narration from Venkat Prabhu, I got up and hugged him happily. It excited me so much. Venkat Prabhu made movies with stars like Ajith, Suriya, Karthi, and Simbu. This is the most expensive project for me, to date. I need to thank Arvind Swami. I learned so much from him. The director designed unique action sequences between me and Sharath Kumar. I didn’t get to share screen space much with Priyamani. But she gave elevation to the character with her performance. Krithi speaks better Telugu and Tamil than me. It’s just been 3 years. Her career is going to be a blast from now on.

Ilayaraja and Yuvan Shankar Raja’s BGM is excellent for the movie. The trailer’s score is still running in my mind every time. I did not have many scenes with Premgi, but he contributed a lot, behind the camera, with regard to music. While the first 20 mins will be calm and cool like Venkat Prabhu, the story takes a new turn from the 40th minute. The action sequence before the interval will be wonderful. You’re going to see new Chay. I hope you all will come and be in my Custody.”

Director Venkat Prabhu disclosed that he has plans of making a sequel to Custody.
