Nandamuri Balakrishna described a nurse as a "hot woman" on his talk show. He's now singing a different tune. His words were twisted, Balakrishna said in a statement after the Andhra Pradesh Nursing Welfare Association held a dharna against him.
Who, if anyone, distorted his words? Was he implying that those who have heard his actual words from his mouth have misunderstood them, or that Aha changed them in the editing?
"There have been rumours that I have insulted the Nursing profession, which I strongly refute. They took what I said out of context. I have a great deal of admiration for nurses who devote their lives to the care of their patients," Balayya penned on his social media page.
His comments about one particular nurse appeared in the "Unstoppable" episode. Everyone could see and hear them. Aha Platform is still carrying the episode.
This means that he was the only one who intentionally distorted his words.
When people challenge his obscene language, he always responds with the same justification: "Naa Maatalu Vakrikarincharu."
