Once upon a time, NTR was known for giving time to every interested director, patiently listening to their scripts.
This often led to a flurry of news about potential combinations—though only a few actually materialized.
Eventually, NTR streamlined his approach and began choosing projects with a clear plan.
Now, Allu Arjun seems to be adopting NTR’s earlier strategy. He is meeting a wide range of directors and hearing out multiple script ideas.
Although he initially agreed to collaborate with Trivikram, Allu Arjun made the Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo director wait and instead committed to Atlee’s film.
As a result, Trivikram has moved on—he’s now doing a film with Venkatesh and has also announced a mythological project with NTR. With Trivikram occupied, Allu Arjun is exploring fresh combinations.
Currently, Prashanth Neel, Nelson Dilipkumar, Basil Joseph, Sanjay Leela Bhansali, and most recently Lokesh Kanagaraj have pitched ideas to him. Industry talk suggests that the Lokesh Kanagaraj–Allu Arjun project may take shape next year.
But with Allu Arjun, nothing is certain until the film goes on floors. In the past, he has halted projects with his “guru” Trivikram and shelved films planned with Koratala Siva, Linguswamy, and Sriram Venu.
So, whether the rumored films with Lokesh Kanagaraj or Basil Joseph happen remains to be seen.
