Agent Is An Unpredictable Wild Monkey: Akhil

Akhil Akkineni who last appeared in a soft role in his last movie Most Eligible Bachelor will be seen in a wild role in Agent which is coming in theatres on 28th of this month.

Akhil is crazy about doing action and larger-than-life movies and his wish is fulfilled with Agent.

“When I was thinking about my next during the lockdown, I met director Surender Reddy. The story wasn’t locked then. But I was determined to do something new and fresh. Agent’s journey started when we chose the spy genre with an attempt to make a new kind of action movie.”

Nagarjuna and other heroes of the Akkineni family are known for doing love and romantic entertainers.

“What I strongly feel is that when audiences come to watch my movies, they should be given extreme experience.”

Akhil looked like a beast in the promos of Agent. Was Akhil’s look inspired by any Hollywood actor? Akhil says no.

“Why Hollywood, when we have our Hrithik Roshan? Generally, actors need to focus on what kind of body and physique the director wants for the movie. Surender Reddy told me one thing that the audience should forget about my previous look and movie. It took 10 months for me to get the desired physique.”

Though Akhil is an introvert, he played a crazy character in Agent.

“Since we have chosen the spy genre, it will be in a serious zone. But we have done a lot of work at the script stage to make it engaging and entertaining to appeal to the mass audience. A spy must have stayed in the shadows and blended in with everyone. But this Agent is the complete reverse. He is unpredictable like a wild monkey.”

The film is coming on the same release date of Pokiri and Baahubali.

“Both are my favorite movies. But I personally don’t have many sentiments. I feel it a blessing to have my movie releasing on the same date of Pokiri and Baahubali 2.”

The young hero feels honor to share screen space with Mammootty.

“We can't imagine anyone else in the character. He never relaxes. I really enjoyed working with him.”
