Pre release piracy has become a serious threat for film industry lately. With people carrying smart phones everywhere it is becoming extremely difficult to save digital content from getting leaked.
We had seen Attarintiki Daredi film coming out a week prior to its theatrical release. Similar thing happened for the films Taxiwala and Geetha Govindam backed by Geetha Arts.
As per the buzz from industry circles, raw footage of these two films was leaked from the Avid office. A smalltime director came across a screenshot of the raw footage in Krishna district and alerted Geetha Arts office. They have immediately lodged a police complaint and two miscreants were taken into custody.
Police got hold of the raw footage from them and made sure that it was neither forwarded nor downloaded on to other devices. Both the films were saved from getting leaked as the producers were alerted on time.
Content is getting leaked in some way or the other in spite of editing the films in own offices of producers and directors.
It is turning out to be a major headache for the filmmakers to save their hard work from this kind of people who really doesn’t value the crores of money and hard work invested in to making a film.
