For the special shows of War 2 and Coolie, both teams made strong attempts to get approvals from the Telangana government for extra screenings and higher ticket prices.
However, the government did not agree to their requests.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy had earlier stated that no special show or ticket hike permissions would be given to any film after the Pushpa 2 incident.
But he did not stick to this statement, as permissions were later granted to several big releases, including Game Changer and the recent Hari Hara Veera Mallu.
It now appears that Hari Hara Veera Mallu might have been the last in that list. For War 2 and Coolie, no permissions have been granted. The question remains whether the government will stand firm this time or change the stance later.
Fans are often upset when one film gets approval while another does not.
Some believe the government might grant future permissions to other films, claiming the denial to War 2 and Coolie was only because they were not productions from Telangana. Time will tell.
