In a sudden box office twist, Pawan Kalyan’s Ustaad Bhagat Singh is reportedly being preponed to March 19, according to industry sources.
The film was originally planned for March 26, but the makers are now said to be advancing the release to cash in on the long holiday weekend.
The development comes soon after Yash’s Toxic moved out of the March 19 slot and postponed its release to June 4, creating an unexpected opening in the release calendar.
However, the new date means Pawan Kalyan’s film will now directly clash with the blockbuster sequel Dhurandhar 2 at the box office. The potential showdown between the two big films is already generating strong buzz in trade circles.
Meanwhile, another interesting development is the last-minute music department change. Composer Thaman has reportedly been brought in to handle the background score, replacing Devi Sri Prasad.
The move is said to have been made to speed up the final copy and complete post-production quickly ahead of the revised release date.
If the plans go through, Ustaad Bhagat Singh could turn into one of the most talked-about box office clashes of the season.
