Rs 120 Cr for Toxic? Trade Calls It Pure Hype

Rs 120 Cr for Toxic? Trade Calls It Pure Hype

Big news around Yash’s upcoming film Toxic is creating a buzz in the Telugu film industry.

Producer Dil Raju recently released a poster announcing that the Telugu states’ distribution rights were acquired for ₹120 crore by Sri Venkateswara Creations.

What surprised the industry is not just the amount, but the way it was announced. It is very rare for a buyer to publicly reveal the purchase price through an official poster.

Even if the idea was to project a potential value based on regional ratios, trade insiders say the figure looks highly unrealistic.

Adding to the doubt, there was earlier talk that Toxic might avoid a box-office clash with Dhurandhar 2, which is scheduled for a late March release.

Some reports suggested the film could shift its release date. However, no change has been announced so far, and Toxic is now expected to release on March 19, directly clashing with Dhurandhar 2.

With such strong competition at the box office, trade circles feel that buying Telugu distribution rights at such a huge price is difficult to believe.

Many in the industry say the numbers being projected do not match current market realities, especially with a crowded release window.
