Is Vrushakarma Really Sold or Just a Gimmick?

Is Vrushakarma Really Sold or Just a Gimmick?

Naga Chaitanya’s "Vrushakarma", directed by Karthik Dandu, has generated considerable interest following the launch of its teaser.

The glimpse created good buzz and raised expectations around the film. However, the film’s theatrical business has now become a topic of debate.

Generally, Naga Chaitanya’s films attract decent business, especially when the promotional material clicks with audiences.

But the numbers currently being circulated by the makers and certain distributor circles have raised doubts about the authenticity of the deal.

The film’s PR team reportedly informed the media that the rights were snapped up by Naga Vamsi of Sithara Entertainments for a whopping Rs 45 crore.

However, several social media handles claimed that the rights for Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Karnataka were sold for Rs 40 crore, while others quoted the figure as Rs 35 crore.

With multiple numbers floating around—Rs 35 crore, Rs 40 crore, and Rs 45 crore—the lack of clarity has created confusion.

This has led to speculation about whether Naga Vamsi actually purchased the rights or if these leaks are part of a strategy to create hype around the film’s theatrical business.

Adding to the speculation, Naga Vamsi himself had earlier mentioned that he suffered significant losses in distribution, particularly with NTR’s "War 2", where he reportedly incurred losses of over Rs 30 crore.

At the same time, his banner is busy producing several films, and he has often been selling distribution rights to other players like Annapurna Studios or Dil Raju.

Given this backdrop, industry observers are questioning whether Naga Vamsi would indeed commit to a major deal for three states.

For now, many believe the circulating figures could simply be a publicity tactic aimed at boosting the film’s market buzz.
