Is Nayanthara's Brand Image Slipping?

Nayanthara, often hailed as the "Lady Superstar" of South Indian cinema, has long been one of the most sought-after actresses in the industry.

With a track record of successful films and strong performances, she commands significant commercial value.

However, recent reports suggest a surprising drop in her remuneration for an upcoming Telugu project with megastar Chiranjeevi.

The actress, who made her debut in Malayalam cinema and has since built a massive fan base across Tamil, Telugu, and now Hindi audiences (following her Bollywood debut in Jawan alongside Shah Rukh Khan), was last seen in Telugu in Godfather (2022), also opposite Chiranjeevi.

As per a report by Siasat.com, Nayanthara was initially said to have quoted a hefty ₹18 crore for her role in Chiranjeevi’s next film, directed by Anil Ravipudi and expected to release during Sankranti 2026. However, the makers reportedly negotiated the amount down to just ₹6 crore.

While this might seem like a hit to her brand value, industry insiders suggest otherwise.

Nayanthara continues to be a top contender for major projects, including the highly anticipated Toxic, which could further boost her market value.

So, is this a setback? Perhaps a temporary one — but with several big projects in her lineup, Nayanthara’s star power remains firmly intact.
