Buzz is building in B-town as speculation swirls about a possible romance between Dhanush and Mrunal Thakur.
Fans and social media users are abuzz after the duo was spotted sharing several warm moments at recent events.
The rumors gained traction on August 1, when Dhanush attended Mrunal’s birthday bash.
A viral video from the celebration shows him holding her hand during a seemingly intimate exchange, enough to ignite widespread chatter online.
Earlier that day, Dhanush had flown to Mumbai to attend the special screening of Son of Sardaar 2, which stars Mrunal alongside Ajay Devgn.
Footage from the event shows Mrunal leaning in to whisper something to Dhanush, adding more fuel to the rumors. “Are they dating?” read one fan post on X, formerly Twitter.
Reactions have been mixed. Some fans are convinced there's something more, while others believe they’re just close friends.
“Unconfirmed, but definitely looks like something’s up,” wrote one user. Another dismissed the speculation with, “Just friends, nothing more.”
This isn't the first time the two have been seen together. On July 3, Mrunal attended a private gathering hosted by writer-producer Kanika Dhillon for Dhanush’s upcoming film Tere Ishk Mein.
Photos from the event showed the pair posing happily with the team. Kanika even captioned the post with, “Our OG Raanjhanaa in the house Dhanush, we love you!”
Neither Dhanush nor Mrunal has commented on the dating rumors, keeping fans guessing.
Dhanush was previously married to Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth before the couple announced their separation in 2022 after 18 years of marriage.
On the professional front, Dhanush’s Tere Ishk Mein, opposite Kriti Sanon, is slated for release on November 28. Mrunal’s latest film, Son of Sardaar 2, hit theatres on August 1.
