After the governments of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh issued GOs permitting a hike in ticket prices for Pushpa 2, Pawan Kalyan gave a suggestion.
He suggested avoiding high ticket prices in rural areas, though he felt it was acceptable for cities. His point was that the youth population, which is the backbone of opening success for any film, is more concentrated in cities than in rural areas.
Adding to that, spending such large amounts on ticket prices seems excessive for rural audiences compared to those in cities.
Keeping all this in view, Pawan Kalyan advised the producers and distributors of Pushpa 2, but they did not listen.
They attempted to open screenings with high ticket prices, leveraging the GOs of both the Telangana and Andhra Pradesh governments, setting ticket prices at ₹800 and ₹1,000 for premiere shows on December 4th at 9:30 PM.
As Pawan Kalyan predicted, many premiere shows were canceled in rural regions of both AP and Telangana due to poor audience turnout.
This turned out to be an embarrassment for Allu Arjun, as it became a recorded instance in history where the premiere shows of Pushpa 2 were canceled, regardless of the reasons.
