US BO: Ruler Turns Disaster, PRP Underperforms

Dull show at the USA box-office is continuing. USA audiences are not showing much interest to step into theaters.

Even the year-end holiday period has not helped the box-office getting a boost. Last week witnessed the release of four movies - ‘Prati Roju Pandaage’, ‘Ruler’ and ‘Thambi/Donga’ and ‘Dabaang 3’.

Salman Khan’s ‘Dabaang 3’ also underperformed in the USA though it managed to achieve a $1 million mark in its first weekend.

Among last week’s Telugu releases, only Sai Dharam Tej starrer “Prati Roju Pandaage” posted a respectable number. The movie grossed about $200k.

Despite Maruthi’s name and family-oriented content, Sai Tej’s movie didn’t lure the audience. Sai Tej doesn’t have a market in the USA.

Expectedly, Nandamuri Balakrishna’s ‘Ruler’ is a disaster. Even his die-hard fans stayed away from this film. This is one of the lowest ever openings in Balakrishna’s career.

#Ruler: Fri: 23,083 Sat: 9,342 Sun: 4000 Wknd Total: $37000

Karthi’s ‘Thambi’/Donga also has failed to bring in the audiences to the theaters. The film collected about $35000.
