Young Colorado Tennis Star Inspires Change

Eleven-year-old Diya Godavarthi from Colorado is showing that age is no barrier when it comes to chasing big dreams and helping others.

A shining tennis talent, Diya started playing at the age of six. Today, she is the No. 1 ranked player in Colorado for Girls 12U, No. 3 in the Intermountain region and already in the Top 100 nationally.

Her skills have caught the attention of leading sponsors like Yonex and top tennis academies in Colorado and Florida. She even had the chance to train for a week at the world famous Rafa Nadal Academy in Spain.

But for Diya, tennis is not just about winning matches. Through the Colossal Youth Athlete of the Year competition, she is raising funds for cancer research, a cause that is very close to her heart. She plays to honor friends who have bravely fought cancer, including some who are no longer here.

With her passion, hard work and compassion, Diya is proving that true champions don’t just play for trophies, they play to make a difference.
