Telangana Realtors Say ‘No Telangana Please’

While the political imbroglio is continuing with respect to Telangana issue, the realtors on the other hand are worried for their personal reasons.

Many Telangana realtors are worried if separate state is announced. Yadagiri, a realtor from Toopran says, “The land prices got sky rocketed during 2007 boom time but eventually dropped due to recession. But now the political speculation is the only wind that affects the graph of realty market. Investors are not coming forward (especially residential) if they feel T-state forms. Many of Seemandhra population living in twin cities are showing interest to invest in their native places than purchasing lands here if they feel they are foreign to this land”.

On the flip side, Ram Prasad Koneru, a realtor from Vijayawada feels, “Our lands grow in price only when separate state is announced. I have bought huge land at Rs 13 lakh per acre near Vijayawada when the winds were strong about forming Telangana state recently. But now the situation is in air. No one knows what’s inside Sri Krishna Committee report. If T-state delays to form, my investment will be a dead capital. It is sure that the price of my land falls to Rs 3 lakh per acre if Samaikyandhra is stable”.

Another realtor says, “Throughout the national highway stretch, even at a distance of 20 to 25 km interior in coastal area, the land rates have gone from Rs 2 lakh an acre to Rs 30 lakh. At some places, it even touched Rs one crore. But now if T-state fails to form, the prices come down to 50%," Simhadri said.

“Telangana state is not a favorable thing for realtors in T-region. We only pray the state should be united”, says Ranjit Kumar Reddy, a realtor in Medchal.

So amidst all these assumptions and emotions we have to see what is in store for realtors across the state. Wait for 3 more days.
