Ram Charan’s much-hyped biggie Peddi has been making headlines, but Malayalam actress Swasika recently grabbed attention for turning down a role in the film.
The 33-year-old actress revealed that she was offered to play Charan’s mother — despite the fact that the superstar is seven years older than her.
“I keep getting mother roles one after another. But when I was asked to play Ram Charan’s mother, I said no,” Swasika admitted in an interview. “It’s a massive film with a huge budget, but I don’t feel the need to take up such roles at this point in my career. Maybe later in life, but not now.”
Despite multiple approaches from the team, she stood firm on her decision. Peddi, directed by Buchi Babu Sana, stars Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor, with music by A.R. Rahman and Kannada legend Shiva Rajkumar in a key role.
Swasika, who shot to fame with last year’s Tamil hit Lubber Pandhu, will next be seen alongside Suriya in Karuppu.
