MEGA HEALTH FAIR organized by NATA in association with Saint Peter’s Healthcare Systems on September 22, 2012 at Buccleuch Park, across the street from St. Peter’s Hospital received a tremendous response from the community.
The people started coming from 11.30 am onwards and more than 500 people participated in the health fair and took advantage of many services offered from this health fair that includes FREE FLU Vaccinations, BP, Blood Sugar, BMI, and Eye Screening said Srinivas Ganagoni, Chair,NATA-Community Services. Tab Chukunta, Executive Director of Community Outreach, Saint Peter’s Healthcare System was extremely happy with the turn out and the services provided during this health fair and he announced that Saint Peter’s Healthcare System will partner with NATA in the future and make it as an annual event going forward.
NATA thanked St. Peter’s University Hospital team led by Tab Chukunta for providing the all the services such as Blood Pressure, Blood Sugar, Height and Weight, Flu Immunizations, Nutrition and Healthy Living, Oral Health, Prescription Safety, Children's Asthma, Infant Massage Demonstration, Parent/Child Education, Car Seat Safety, Autism Information, Eye Screening, Pain Management, Dementia Screening, Prostate Health Promotion, Stroke Information, Fitness and Exercise Education, Healthy Steps, Foot and Ankle. The medical and health advice include 'Take Control of Your Health', Thyroid & Hormonal Health, Financial Counseling, and Ask the Doctor or Pharmacist to the community.
The event is well organized under the advice and guidance of Dr.Pailla Mallareddy and the NATA CS team led by Srinivas Ganagoni with CS team members Sarath Veta, Krishna Siddhada, Arun Sriramineni, Vamsi Koppuravuri, and Naresh Chintalacheruvu along with many other volunteers. This event is executed professionally with high standards in excellent coordination with Saint Peter’s Hospital team Dr. Meena Murthy, Dr. Marge, Dr. David etc. Twenty Rutgers University student volunteers participated and helped in this event. Assemblyman Upendra Chivukula took his time out from his busy schedules and visited this fair. He also took flu vaccination and utilized some other services and stood as an example for the community. He extended his moral support to both NATA and St. Peter's team.
NATA would like to thank Vidhyadhar Garapati, CEO of www.movers.com who sponsored the FLU vaccinations for the health fair and other sponsors such as Dr. Sanjeeva Reddy (President-Elect), Ramaseshaiah (Abhiruchi Restaurant), Raj( Paradize Biryani), Laxmi Devineni (Ishaar Law Firm PC), Damu Gedala(Coriander Restaurant).
NATA leadership team Rajeshwar Gangasani, Mohan Patalolla, Mahender Musuku, Mohan Talamati, Chinnababu Reddy, Shekar Konala, Siva Meka, Linga Reddy, Santosh Pathuri, Krishna,Sreedhar Gudala were attended the event and oversee all activities. The local community leaders Nandu Balija, Hari Eppanapally, Sridhar Chillara, Raja Rao were also attended the event.
The students from dance schools of SriLakshmi Parcha, Divya Yeluri, Gayatri Vedula,and Shivajyothi performed decent Kuchipudi dances and the students from Dr. Sharada Khandavilli sang songs and entertained the participants. Also young speakers Sai Ganagoni and Vamshi Eppanapally spoke on a topic: Danger of Plastics and Styrofoam.
The following volunteers from various age groups helped making this event successful. Somesh Veeramaneni, Ratna Veta,Avanish, Rani Vutkur,Veena,Leshya & Venkat Bokka, Prasad Tanjerla, Vasanth Tanna & Rahul Naidu Tanna, Manju, Susmitha, Sai Ganagoni are the other volunteers who helped this in event.
