NATS donated $20k to Ramana's family

North America Telugu Society (NATS), the premier service oriented national Telugu Organization, in the process of expanding it's service initiatives across the country, launched NATS Missouri state chapter in St.Louis, MO. There was enormous support from local community and over 400 people turned up for the event in spite of a short notice.

NATS donated 20,000 dollars to Venkata Ramana Vattikuti's family, who unfortunately died of 'Blood Cancer(Leukemia)' leaving behind dependent parents, wife and small kid.

NATS also announced that it would support and promote the school for Orphans, Bright Life Foundation initiated by Dr.Polineni Subba Rao.

Speaking on the occasion, NATS President Mr.Ravi Madala briefed about the various service activities of NATS across U.S. and India - NATS 24 hrs help line, NATS Free Clinic in New Jersey, NATS Free Medical camps in US, Training programs for Students and Unemployed in US. Also, Uddhanam project (water purification projects), Seva Projects (home shelter projects for elderly people) etc in India to name a few.

NATS Joint Secretary, Mr.Mohana Krishna Mannava announced the NATS Missouri state chapter and introduced the team to the local community, he mentioned that in the process of expanding NATS service activities across the country, NATS is starting this chapter in Missouri state.

NATS Missouri state chapter was formed with the following team - Srinivas Manchikalapudi, Srinivas Gullapalli, Jagan Vejendla, Srinivasa Reddy, Venkat Makkena, YSRK Prasad, Harindra Garimella, Seshu Reddy and Prudhvi Kurra. The team would be expanded in the next few days. Mr.Vijay Buddi would be the MO chapter Advisor and Dr.Sudheer Atluri would be part of National Advisory board.

NATS Director, Dr.Nagendra Srinivas Kodali briefed about the next NATS convention (2013) in Dallas and requested active participation from the local community.

Mr.Srinivas Manchikalapudi coordinated this event and he initiated this effort of launching NATS Missouri chapter with the guidance of NATS President Mr.Ravi Madala and NATS Joint Secretary Mr.Mohana Krishna Mannava.

In spite of this being NATS first event in Missouri, there was over whelming response from the local community and nearly 125 people took NATS membership.

Dr.Rama Krishna Gondi gave a very good presentation regarding the precautions to be taken for heart stroke and provided guidance on nutritional diet. The presentation was well packaged and received a good response from the audience. Blood sugar machines and strips were donated to the elderly people who attended this seminar. Vimal Kavuru, NATS director sponsored these machines. Dr.Venkat Bodavula spoke about Bright Life Foundation and the services being offered to Orphan children and expressed happiness to partner with NATS for this project.
