MBS - 'Drama, Thy name is Rajagopal!'

Rajagopal has finally arrived in NIMS - the very same NIMS where he was forbidden till yesterday; in the heart of very same Hyderabad from where he was deported ignobly. He might have tons of property in Hyderabad, might have given thousands of jobs to locals. Still state govt. decried that he was a persona-non-grata here and he was shunted off to Vijayawada. (These days government is selecting even the site of Fast camps. What an understanding, sympathetic govt. we have!)

But Rajagopal gained entry into NIMS in the most heroic way. He alighted from an auto and walked in just like that. We have been watching many a political drama over decades. But in drama, Rajagopal left KCR and Chandra Babu gaping behind. Even the mega star is no match for Rajagopal. Chiru maintains his reel life and real life as water-tight compartments. He confines his antics to silver screen and behaves very soberly on political scene.

But Rajagopal is proving himself to be hero off the screen. While 42 kg. KCR looked sick from the very first day of the fast whereas strong and sturdy Rajagopal is looking yesterday as if he can pull on for another week with ease and give a dozen more ‘exclusive’ interviews.

Rajagopal displayed his heroism even on earlier occasions challenging TRS right in its den. He faced them all alone when while none of his Congress colleagues came to his aid. Now he just walked out from his bed amid 300-strong police force and demonstrated the (in) competence of AP police. Though he traveled 350+ kms., they could not locate him even after 12 hrs., till he chose to surface. World can now understand why AP has become haven for all kinds of extremist, insurgent elements.

Our home minister Sabita Indra Reddy has been contemplating on resignation ever since police were acting firmly in Osmania Varisty campus. Now she can relax. They are back to their inefficient best.

I personally have no great liking for Rajagopal. His Lanco has been in news for all wrong reasons. Too many controversies. And I do not like the serious look on his face. He carries a frown on his face all the time. And he has a hoarse voice that can put Kamal Hasan and Marlyn Brando (Godfather fame) to shame.

But now I want to thank him for electrifying the whole scene. Nothing is happening these days. In Coastal and Seema areas, several fasts unto death are undertaken; daily bandhs are taking place. Many midnights have come and gone, but no announcement is in sight. Central leaders are doing precious little other than showing TDP’s T-consent letters to their daily visitors. Much awaited statement from centre is as elusive as ‘Id ka chaand’.

KCR is doing his best to pep up otherwise dull scenario. He is holding periodic press conferences and calling a name or two of Chandrababu. But Rajagopal proved to be  miles ahead of him in creating sensation. During emergency there was arrest warrant against Subrahmanya Swamy but he went to parliament incognito and slipped out after signing the register there. And branded immediately as James Bond by media. George Fernandez was eluding arrest for more than a year. They were heroes of that era.

Now Rajagopal has emerged as one. He could hoodwink not only police outside Vijayawada hospital but also all the police force along Vijayawada-Hyderabad route. Not only them, even the TRS cadres who were keen to meet him in person to exchange some (un) pleasantries.

I only wish Rajagopal does not teach these tricks to Kola Krishna Mohan, Satyam Raju etc.
