Kanchi seer Jayendra Saraswathi passed away on Wednesday, confirmed doctors. He was admitted to the ABCD Hospital in Kanchipuram in the morning.
The seer, who was 82 years old, died after his vitals dropped at the time of admission, said doctors.
The body has been taken to the Kanchi Mutt, officials confirmed.
In mid-January, he was admitted in a hospital after collapsing at the math due to breathlessness, said media reports.
