Just Sport: Of Mice And Men

Mumbai: Virat Kohli played his 200th ODI on Sunday, and the Mumbai Cricket Association had plans to celebrate the occasion.

All its office bearers were dressed to the nines, and they hoped to honour him during the innings break.

It would have been perfect timing, as the Indian skipper had just scored a superb century in testing conditions. But Kohli, who was probably tired after that long innings, decided to stay put in the dressing room.

So, the felicitation, it was decided, would be held at the end of the match. But, of course, things did not pan out the way the MCA wanted.

India lost the match against New Zealand, and the felicitation ended up being a very brief affair.
