That the YSR Congress Party has rooted deeply into the hearts of the Telugu people was evident from the massive show by its NRI committee members in Dallas, TX.
The gathering had well over 400 people attending the relay hunger strike on Saturday from 8.00 AM to 8.00 PM honoring the deeksha that Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy was doing for the state. Cutting across the regions and party affiliations, the Thomas Jefferson Park often called Gandhi Park in Irving witnessed emotional speeches and concern over the Andhra Pradesh state getting divided.
Dr. Sridhar Korsapati ,Krishna Reddy Koduru,Jaya Chandra Reddy,Prathap Reddy Bheemi Reddy,Suneel Devi Reddy, Raman Reddy Kristapati, Ramana Reddy Putluru, Sudhakar Reddy Vippala and many other Dallas YSRCP leaders coordinated the efforts.
Many who undertook hunger strike stated that they are fortunate enough to be part of the event to keep Andhra Pradesh United.
Krishna Reddy Koduru volunteered to be part of the relay strike for the entire duration. Talking to the group he reiterated that UPA including Congress and TDP are setting its own grave in Andhra Pradesh and said the mere existence of the parties will be wiped out should they not revert the decision.
Dr. Sridhar Korsapati cited the decision of Sonia Gandhi to divide the state was a personal agenda and not peoples agenda, continuing his speech he said it’s a Con party and not Congress party.
Kotta Venkaiah stated that the Andhra and Rayalaseema region have always been deprived of a capital. Years of hard work in building a capital turned out to be futile for the second occurrence. Pratap Bhimireddy talking to the group said the decision was taken in haste without undertaking a proper exercise of discussion over river water division, electricity generation distribution, new capital etc.
YSRCP leaders Y.S.Avinash Reddy, Gurunadha Reddy, Thopudurthi Kavitha and Roja addressed the audience about pros if the AP state is unite and cons for both the regions of AP if state is bifurcated.
The slogans Jai Samaikhyandhra and go back on the decision reverberated the air in the park. Among others who participated in the deeksha were Ravindranath Reddy Aryamanda,Venkat Reddy,Gopi Reddy, Sathish bommineni,Uma Mahesh,Venkat Narpala, Ravi Kona,Thopdurthi Praband,maganti Raja Sekhar,Sudhakar Reddy,Uma Maheswara Reddy, and many others turned up in large numbers and extended their support. Later Raman Reddy Kristapati said this is first of its kind relay deeksha in the US . Krishna Reddy Koduru thanked the people who came over and media TV9 and TV5 for covering the event and also he requested other Telugu NRI's who are living in other parts of USA to do relay deeksha's to support Samaikyandhra.
