Stage is set for the arrest of former Ranji cricket Chamundeeshwaranath in connection with the alleged misbehaviour with women cricketers.
Vijaywada criminal court issued an arrest warrant against Chamundi and directed the Machavaram police to execute the warrant. However, it is not known whether Chamundi is in Vijayawada or elsewhere in the state or country.
In fact, Chamundi made a desperate bid to wriggle out of the case by bribing a few woman cricketers and making them withdraw the case. But since the investigations carried out by the CB-CID and subsequently by the Machavaram police proved his guilt beyond doubt, the court took the issue seriously and issued the arrest warrant.
