The Union Minster of Human Resource Development Smt. Daggubati Purandareswari is in the United States to attend several events in the next few days. On her trip she was in Los Angeles on Wednesday the 18th June. There was a get together and dinner arranged on the eve of her visit. Several Telugu prominent persons including Doctors, Engineers and businessmen attended the get together and it was an evening portraying typical Telugu style hospitality. Everyone present applauded the down to earth and ever smiling attitude of Smt Purandhareswari and asked several questions on the happenings in our country for which she answered very patiently.
Akhila Alapati introduced Smt Purandhareswari and requested her to speak on the occasion. In reciprocation, the minister admired the Telugu people in the US for their achievements in various areas and very much appreciated the Telugu’s intent to promote and preserve our rich cultural heritage. She reminded her father late Sri N T Rama Rao who worked selflessly for the cause of the poor and needy. She mentioned she is blessed to be his daughter. She thanked everyone for arranged such a nice get together . Ravi Koneru of Chakra Cuisine, Irvine hosted the event which turned out to be a wonderful evening with a decent gathering.
