An event manager who was overseeing actor-turned-politician K Chiranjeevi's 60th birthday bash at a star hotel, and a woman were killed after the former driving a sports bike hit the latter at Banjara Hills on Friday night.
Mihir Chadha, 21, of Trimulgherry was going on a KTM RC 3901 sports bike after attending a programme at a hotel in Banjara Hills.
“Mihir was overseeing Chiranjeevi's 60th birthday celebrations at Park Hyatt. Around 11 pm, Mihir left the hotel after inspecting the ongoing works. He took a U-turn and was going towards Cinemax when the mishap took place,'' Banjara Hills subinspector Vinod Kumar said.
According to police, Mihir was supposed to meet someone at Cinemax to collect money. A resident of RR Colony in Trimulgherry, Mihir had all the paraphernalia for riding a sports bike like gloves and jacket, but ignored to wear the most crucial one helmet.
Police said the woman was yet to be identified, but suspected she could be a pavement-dweller near LV Prasad Hospital. The high-end sports bike got completely damaged in the mishap.
