Looking at the bonhomie on display between Narendra Modi, Xi Jinping and Alexander Putin in China recently, one wouldn’t be mistaken for assuming they were long lost brothers finally reunited. But, as a Photo-op, its impact was undeniable.
So, who cares if Trump speaks about India with disdain and decides to punish us, we are close friends with Russia and China now and all is well.
While Modi is a master at such photo-ops, what is undeniable is that he has no equal back home in India when it comes to seizing an opportunity. Bihar is one such example.
Rahul Gandhi and his partners have directly accused the Election Commission of ‘Vote Chori’ and accused the constitutional body of undertaking the ‘Special Intensive Revision’ of voters’ lists in Bihar, only to aid the NDA. They even undertook a rally across Bihar to highlight this particular aspect.
The rally was very successful and Congress and its allies seemed to be gaining definite traction leaving the BJP worried. However, during the rally, some youngster screamed epithets against the Prime Minister from a campaign stage.
Never one to miss out on a opportunity, Modi released an emotional video saying that his deceased mother was targeted and this meant that the entire women of Bihar were humiliated.
He further added that the womenfolk of Bihar would never forgive the Congress and its allies for such derogatory comments.
Since then, there have been many video clippings shared on social media of women of Bihar, teary-eyed criticizing the Congress and its allies. With one stroke, Modi has once again tipped the balance in favour of the NDA alliance. Also, women turn up to vote in larger numbers than men in Bihar.
So, while Rahul Gandhi and his team might have thought they had the NDA on the back foot, Narendra Modi has once again pulled out the rug from underneath their feet.
