Baby Saanvi Venna found dead, says US media

10-month-old baby Saanvi Venna has been reportedly found dead, according to the US media. Saanvi had been missing from her parents' apartment in the US state of Pennsylvania since Monday.

The local police and the Telugu community had announced a $30,000 reward for information leading to the safe return of the baby on Wednesday. This was later increased to $50,000.

Her paternal grandmother, who was baby-sitting her, was found murdered in the apartment. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) had joined the massive search for the baby.

Raghunandan Yandamuri, who also lives in the complex, is in police custody.

Police believe the Yandamuri's initial intention was to kidnap the child and hold her for ransom. Investigators say they found a ransom note in the apartment demanding $50,000.

Saanvi was suffocated and stuffed into a suitcase before being hidden in the building's gym, according to Montgomery County District Attorney Risa Vetri-Ferman.

Vetri-Ferman confirms Yandamuri will be charged with the murders of both Saanvi and Satyavathi.
