The news about Jagan's release was received with great fervor and joy in Atlanta. A huge gathering of young and old met in the early hours of evening and celebrated the exciting news. The spontaneous eruption of happiness and the lights that lit up on the throng of ardent well-wishers could convince anyone that the heart of NRI's in Atlanta is still in the right place and beating strongly.
The get-together was inspired by the energy and dynamism of Atlanta's Gireesh Meka, Kiran Kandula, Jagadeesh Cheemarala. Gireesh, Kiran and Jagadeesh are well known for their commitment for a noble ideology and much respected for their support for any good cause. It was but inevitable, that the good tidings about Jagan brought this trio to actively coordinate and arrange for festivities, that all the other like minded dignitaries in Atlanta could join and enjoy. Gopi and other energetic atlantans helped in ensuring a smooth celebration.
Speaking on the occasion, Bala Indurti, a respected leader in Atlanta, nostalgically reminisced his friendship with YSR and the glorious days of the past. He shared his memories of the illustrious leader and offered a rich tribute to one of the "greatest Chief Ministers of all times". Dr. T Satyanarayana Reddy (known as TSR), also spoke and shared the rich values that YSR and his family have brought to Andhra Pradesh. TSR said that he felt very optimistic on the future of our motherland, now that the spirit of freedom and justice is released from the shackles of power and corruption. Both leaders opined that the collective voice of the people and the sincere note of truth have finally gathered the optimal power and momentum to get the tide of good fortune to swing in the path of justice and hope.
As they celebrated the release of the leader, the progressive group that gathered also pondered soberly over the road that lay ahead. The group's good intentions need to be translated to well meaning, diligent actions. The process to get these steps laid out were brainstormed by these intellectuals and an action plan was diligently carved out. As dusk wore on, the cool night was filled with the warmth of the exhilaration and joy in Atlanta. As one watched their sincerity of purpose and strength of solidarity, one is firmly convinced that the "sun" of hope and goodwill will never set in Atlanta and will only rise stronger till Andhra Pradesh reaches and surpasses it's yester years of glory.
