Visakhapatnam: Asserting that YSR Congress the fight against land encroachments in the district will continue, Leader of Opposition YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has said that Chandrababu Naidu government has been following the policy of robbing the poor and having deals with the rich.
Addressing the Save Vizag Maha Dharna here on Thursday to highlight the land encroachment by TDP leadership and down the line to local leaders, he said, ‘the SIT report cannot bring out facts and only a CBI report can bring out facts as officials, local leaders, ministers and top leadership have a role in the multi-crore scam spread across various mandals of the district.
Throwing light on the modus operandi and the nepotism shown by TDP leadership he said, the state has been tampering with the records and some of the records have vanished from the Collector’s Office and everything is being worked out according to a plan to scare away the poor rightful owners forcing them to sell their land at throwaway prices and the rich selling the same land at exorbitant rates cornering crores of rupees.
Assigned lands and government lands are being taken away from the beneficiaries belonging to weaker sections in the name of land pooling for a very nominal price and the same is being sold at a very high price making crores of rupees in the process.
The revenue records are being tampered with and in some cases the records are said to be missing. Even the district collector, who happens to have served in various capacities in the district, has announced that some of the records have gone missing in the Hudud Cylone.
‘I stayed here for 11 days after the Hudud Cyclone. There was gale and rains but not to the extent of washing away the records from strong room of the Collectors Office.
Chandrababu Naidu’s nepotism has come to the fore with former MP MVVS Murthy grabbing 55 acres of land in Rishikonda belonging to weaker sections and his plea to convert it in his name was cleared by cabinet within no time and the cost of the land runs into Rs 1,000 crore.
He has also occupied illegally 7 acres of land given by YSR under Rajiv Gruha Yojana and gets the cabinet nod within no time. The land worth is Rs 100 crore. Assigned land in Bhimili and Pendurthi mandals were taken away from weaker sections by Bandaru Satyanarayana Murthy and other leaders paying just Rs 10 lakh per acre and has a value of Rs 2 crore per acre now, he said.
Minister Ganta Srinivas and his close relative have grabbed assigned lands and have tampered with the records and in some cases the registers with survey numbers have gone missing and Panchayati Raj Minister Lokesh has his share in every deal, he said.
The district collector who has close association with TDP has announced that land records in 42 mandals have gone missing and they could not trace them as they were washed away during Hudud Cyclone which is ridiculous. The shady deals are done with the connivance of officials, local leaders and top leadership which is the very reason why we have rejected SIT investigation and sought CBI probe.
Minister Ganta Srinivas Rao’s close relative Bhaskar Rao has pawned documents of land which do not belong to him in a bank and has taken loan and in many places false documents are created and the genuine owners are being harassed and forced to sell them a very nominal prices.
Documents are being created online and are pawned or sold at higher rates which shows that TDP is pursuing the policy of rob the poor and pay the rich, he said.
Bhogapuram airport is being built by land acquisition and surprisingly all the lands of TDP leaders falling on the wayside are saved but the poor man’s land is being acquired by GOs, coercion and other means.
We will fight this injustice and join you in every struggle and when we come to power every inch of land will be accounted for, he said.
He likened the SIT investigation like that of Ravana ordering Kumbakarna to probe whether hijacking Sita is proper or not and if the probe is done CBI it will be like asking Hanuman to take over the investigation.
