Hyderabad: The Andhra Pradesh government is examining the issue of proposing suitable amendments in the Presidential Order to resolve the problem of nativity of children of employees who would move to the capital of the state (coming up in Vijayawada-Guntur region) from Telangana.
As per the existing provisions of the Presidential Order (on nativity issues) the children of employees shifting to the new capital of AP would become non-locals if they have studied from 4th class to 10th class in Telangana, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said in the Assembly.
"Government is examining the issue for proposing suitable amendments in the Presidential Order to resolve this matter," he said in a written reply to a question.
The Andhra Pradesh government recently started shifting some of its offices from Hyderabad to Vijayawada-Guntur region, a process expected to gather momentum furthur.
As per the AP Reorganisation Act, 2014, Hyderabad would remain common capital of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh for a period not exceeding ten years; thereafter, it would become a part and parcel of Telangana.
