You, too, Brutus? Dokka to join TDP!

The Congress party in the Seemandhra region has plunged into such a sorry state of affairs that even the most diehard loyalists are deserting it and looking for greener pastures, leaving the party in lurch.

Latest in the list of defectors is former minister Dokka Manikya Varaprasada Rao, who has been given a key post in the Seemandhra PCC. Dokka on Saturday hinted at joining the TDP, saying he would take a decision in a day or two after talking to party activists, friends and especially his political Guru Rayapati Sambasiva Rao.

Dokka, apparently perturbed over the current political situation, said he had two or three proposals on which a decision will be taken after sharing views with Rayapati Sambasiva Rao. As the TDP reportedly offered him Bapatla Lok Sabha ticket, Dokka may call on N Chandrababu Naidu for a formal joining, according to information.

He said the Congress will not survive in Seemandhra region in the ensuing elections and it may take much time for the Congress to revive in the region. He categorically said if he wants to be in politics he may or may not continue in the Congress or may join any other party. He opined that Rayapati's decision to join the Telugu Desam is right option as the Party high command failed to revoke his suspension.
