A new political situation is emerging in Tamil Nadu. The BJP is trying to rope in Rajinikanth and project him as the face of BJP in Tamil Nadu.
It is a known fact that AIADMK is in power in the state and Jayalalitha is the current CM. But Narendra Modi seems to have given orders to party leader Amit Shah to strengthen the party in the state and prepare the ground for BJP to emerge as a strong force there.
As a part of this strategy, the party is now trying to attract Rajinikanth given his mass following within Tamils all over the world.
However, it has to be mentioned here that Rajinikanth did support different parties at different times in the past, but never played a direct role in TN politics till date.
Now, it remains to be seen if he will risk getting into fray and directly contesting against Jayalalitha.
Also, Jayalalitha is in a strong position right now after winning 37 Lok Sabha seats during the 2014 general elections.
